Danny O’Brien enters his first season as the Athletic Department’s Operations Assistant after serving five seasons with the men’s basketball program. He previously spent one season as the men’s basketball Operations Assistant and four seasons as a student manager at Niagara.
O’Brien is be responsible for all 18 teams’ travel, meals, budgets and other administrative duties.
"It’s great to have Danny stay around as a part of our family," Niagara head coach Joe Mihalich said. "He is a dedicated, loyal guy who works extremely hard and makes NU better."
O’Brien attended Gonzaga High School in Washington, D.C., and was the four-year head manager for the men’s basketball team under legendary coach Dick Myers. He was the team’s manager for the program’s first-ever city title team.
Born Oct. 11, 1985, O’Brien is the son of Catherine O’Brien and earned his degree in sports management in May of 2008.
