ALBANY, N.Y. – The Niagara women’s soccer team landed four Purple Eagles to All-MAAC teams announced at the 2008 MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship in Albany, N.Y. Senior forward Stephanie Gartley (Camlachie, Ont.) made first team, while juniors Chiara Greco (Hamilton, Ont.) and Alyssa Pollock (Liverpool, N.Y.) earned second team spots; freshman defender Jennifer Kimoto (Scarborough, Ont.) was named to the all-rookie team.

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – In a playoff-like atmosphere, the Niagara Purple Eagles (12-5-1, 5-4-0) season came to an end with a 1-0 defeat to bitter rival the Canisius Golden Griffins (11-4-3, 6-4-0) on Saturday night at Niagara Field.

The third installment of this season’s Battle of the Bridge competition between Niagara University and Canisius College will have an added element to the rivalry. Both women’s soccer teams are competing for the fourth and final spot in this year’s MAAC Championships from November 9-11 in Loudonville, N.Y. The deciding match will take place on Saturday, November 1 at 7 p.m. from Niagara Field.

Bisnott Earns Purple Pride Performer of the Week Accolades NIAGARA UN., N.Y. – Senior Brittany Bisnott (Brampton, Ont.) earned Purple Pride Performer of the Week, Tuesday, for her efforts in the women’s soccer season-opening victory over the University at Buffalo, Aug. 31. The forward tallied a pair of goals and assisted on the game winner in the 4-3 win over the Bulls.
