The Niagara Purple Eagles are making a trip to the “Ocean State” for two games this weekend. Niagara will face the Brown Bears (2-5-1, 2-4-0 ECAC) on Friday, Nov. 21 at 7 pm and travel cross-town to face the Providence Friars (7-5-1, 3-2-1 Hockey East) on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7 pm.

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Niagara women's hockey team (1-9-1, 0-1-0 CHA) struck first, but lost its CHA opener on Friday to Robert Morris (5-6-0, 3-0-0 CHA), 2-1, at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa. The Purple Eagles allowed the game-winning tally with 41 seconds remaining in regulation.

The Purple Eagles return to the ice after a weekend off from competitive action. Niagara had a strong last two games, defeating and tying then-No. 10 Clarkson, 3-1 and 3-3, respectively. The attention now shifts to conference rival Robert Morris for the first of two weekend series, beginning on Friday, Nov. 14. The game will be part of the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase.

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – It was October 21, 2007 and the Niagara women’s hockey team just defeated the Northeastern Huskies 5-2 in Boston. The team was elated from the win, but was struck with sadness when news that teammate Jacqueline Spring (Thunder Bay, Ont.) became ill.
