ALBANY, N.Y. – Eight members of the Niagara University women’s basketball team were named to the 2007-08 MAAC All-Academic team. The Purple Eagles led the way with eight honorees, just ahead of Siena, with seven.

ALBANY, N.Y. – The Niagara University Purple Eagle women’s basketball team was not able to keep up with cross town rival Canisius, as they fell in the first round of the MAAC Tournament 63-51 on Thursday afternoon. The Purple Eagles finish the season at 8-22.

The Niagara University women’s basketball team opens the 2008 MAAC Tournament with a clash against its cross-town rival in the Canisius Golden Griffins. Niagara enters the game winning three out of its last four, after wins over Manhattan, Loyola and Canisius. Canisius enters the game looking to avenge its 65-63 overtime loss to Niagara.
