POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Niagara will play for the 2009 MAAC Softball Championship after it defeated Canisius 2-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Battle of the Bridge rivalry will be feature in the championship game with the winner earning the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Niagara’s seven-run fifth inning propelled the Purple Eagles to an 8-1 victory over the Manhattan Jaspers in a MAAC Tournament elimination game on Saturday afternoon. Niagara (29-18) now advances to face third-seeded Canisius in a must-win game later this afternoon.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The MAAC softball tournament elimination game between Niagara and Manhattan has been suspended due to darkness. The game was called with Niagara at-bat with two outs in the fourth inning and with the score tied at 1-1.
