NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara men’s soccer head coach Dermot McGrane has announced three new additions to the Purple Eagle squad for the 2010 season. Ken Cooper, Gino Corasaniti and Nick Garcia are the three Purple Eagles that have signed their National Letter of Intent for the upcoming season.

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara men's and women's soccer programs were recently honored with a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 season, one of just 98 schools that had both teams honored.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - In a tense, tightly contested match the Niagara men's soccer team was denied its first-ever MAAC Championship after falling to number two seed Loyola, 1-0, in double-overtime on Sunday afternoon from Lessing Field. The Greyhounds struck the game-winner with 23 seconds left in double-overtime.

Fourth-seeded Niagara Purple Eagles will play second-seeded Loyola Greyhounds in the 2009 MAAC Championship Game televised live on ESPNU on Sunday at noon from Lessing Field in Fairfield, Conn. Niagara, which ousted top-seeded Iona on penalty kicks in the semifinals, is making its first-ever appearance in the title match with the winner heading the NCAA Tournament.
