NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - Former Niagara basketball player Juan Mendez (2001-05) was named to the Canadian Senior Men's National Team on Tuesday. Mendez was one of 12 players selected to represent Canada at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Niagara senior Charron Fisher (Pennsauken, N.J.) was named to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament All-Tournament Team after leading all 64 players in scoring. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 22.3 points per game during the three-game tournament.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Men's basketball's Charron Fisher (Pennsauken, N.J.) has been selected to participate in the 56th annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament that is taking place April 9-12 in Portsmouth, Va. The P.I.T. is the nation's oldest amateur basketball tournament. It is recognized by NBA and European scouts as the premier showcase for future professional players.
