Niagara Athletics, WLVL Partner To Broadcast Hockey Games

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – The Niagara University Department of Athletics and Hometown 1340 WLVL have partnered to broadcast Purple Eagle hockey for the next three seasons.

"I am elated about the opportunity to broadcast Niagara University hockey over Hometown 1340 WLVL," said Culver Communications President Richard Greene. "As the only station based in Niagara County, we are extremely happy to have Niagara University on the air."

WLVL will broadcast every game, which will also be simultaneously streamed on Purple Eagles All-Access.  As part of the agreement, WLVL will air a weekly 30-minute Coaches' show featuring Niagara Athletics airing at 6:30 p.m. starting Oct. 9 at the Buffalo Wild Wing's in Niagara Falls, N.Y.

"We are extremely pleased to have formed a relationship with WLVL," said Niagara Associate Athletic Director Steve Butler. "It's given us greater coverage in the Niagara County and thus enhancing the Niagara Sports Network. I'm excited to see the growth in our radio network, as we are able to provide to our fans in the local community as well as helping our production value on Purple Eagles.com."

The defending Atlantic Hockey regular-season champions and preseason favorite begins the 2013-14 season at home against Clarkson on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
