NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. – The Niagara women’s tennis team fell to the IPFW Mastodons, 6-1, on Monday.

Freshman Sarah Hellstern continued her splendid play to begin her career. The Stuggart, Germany native cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win in No. 3 singles to improve to 6-0 on the season. Hellstern’s win was NU’s only victory in the match.

“IPFW is a good team and we need to play much better than we did today to be successful,” head coach Anthony Nguyen said.  “We will use this as a match to learn from and look forward to playing our spring break matches this week.”

Niagara will play four matches on the road over the next five days beginning at George Mason on Wednesday.
