C.J. Chartrain Named Student-Athlete of the Week

Past Student-Athlete of the Week Winners

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Senior defenseman C.J. Chartrain has been named Student-Athlete of the Week after helping the No. 17 Purple Eagles to a three-point weekend in Atlantic Hockey play.

Chartrain had a hand in three of the nine Niagara goals scored in a series against the RIT Tigers over the weekend.  In Friday night’s 3-3 draw, Chartrain assisted the second Purple Eagle goal while on the man-advantage.  The following day, the Pointe-Claire, Que. native recorded his second career two-goal game, scoring NU’s second goal of the game and added a power play tally late in the second period en route to the team’s 6-4 victory over the Tigers.

The senior had seven looks on net in two contests, and finished a plus-two.

Chartrain and the Purple Eagles are preparing for a weekend home series against the Bentley Falcons, starting on Friday, Feb. 1 and wrapping up the following day.  Both games begin at 7:05 p.m.
