Previous Student-Athlete of the Week Winners
NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Sophomore
Catherine Meyer had a three-point weekend for the Niagara women’s soccer team that earned her Student-Athlete of the Week honors.
Meyer tallied goal and added a helper en route to the Purple Eagles 2-1 victory over the Cornel Big Red last Sunday. With four seconds remaining in the contest, the Bedford, Texas native set up the game-winning goal for teammate Jamie Raepple. Meyer also scored the first goal for Niagara, increasing her season total to two goals.
Meyer wrapped up weekend play with five shots, four of them on target. She holds the top spot on the Purple Eagles in points (6) and assists (4).
Niagara kicks start conference play this Friday when it hosts the Siena Saints at 7 p.m. The Purple Eagles then welcome the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday, Sept. 30 for a 1 p.m. kickoff. Both games will be played at Niagara Field.
