Past Student-Athlete of the Week Winners
NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Sophomore pitcher
Kim Bryson was named Student-Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after going 2-1 in the circle for Niagara this past weekend.
Bryson pitched in 35.2 innings of the 43 innings that the Purple Eagles played, including two complete games and two extra-innings games. The Perrysburg, Ohio native gave up just four runs in that span, including 25.2 consecutive scoreless innings to end the season.
The reigning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Player of the Week struck out 20 batters for the weekend, en route to two shutout wins.
The education major wrapped up a career sophomore season with 160 strikeouts, 18 short of tying Niagara’s single-season record, set by
Joni Sontrop in 1998.
