NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - After a strong performance for the Niagara women's lacrosse team, freshman
Carrie-Jo Farrugia has earned Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Farrugia was one of the best players on the field for the Purple Eagles in their loss against Sacred Heart last Friday. Against the Pioneers, the Jordan Elbridge, N.Y. native had a career day with two tallies, two assists and four points.
For the season, the freshman is second on the team in points (6) and is tied for the team-lead in assists with three.
Farrugia and the rest of the Purple Eagles are back in action on Wednesday when they host Little 3 rival St. Bonaventure Bonnies in their home opener at 7 p.m.
