Niagara Grants Langford’s Transfer Request

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara men’s basketball junior Ali Langford will transfer from the Purple Eagle program for personal reasons.

“Ali is a first-class guy and a high character kid,” head coach Joe Mihalich said.  “We completely understand his situation and wish him the best. He will always be a part of the Niagara basketball family.”

The Salt Lake City, Utah native played one season for the Purple Eagles after transferring from Allan Hancock Community College (Calif.) where he was named the conference player of the year following the 2010-11 season.

Langford played in 29 games for the Purple Eagles, while making one start. He averaged 1.8 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game.

Langford’s biggest impact as a Purple Eagle was his game-winning dunk with 3.7 seconds left in Niagara’s 84-82 comeback win against Rider on Feb. 11 at the Gallagher Center.
