NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara baseball senior outfielder
Wynton Bernard was named Student-Athlete of the Week after a solid performance for the Purple Eagles in a three-game series against Eastern Michigan this past weekend.
Bernard went 5-for-10 at the plate and added three doubles and two RBIs for a .500 batting average in the series.
In the first game against the Eagles, the Poway Calif., native had a team-high three hits while adding an RBI and two runs scored. In the second contest, he scored a home run and added an RBI and a double, while contributing a team-high two runs in two at-bats in the final game of the series.
The Purple Eagles are back in action on Tuesday, March 20 when they take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 3 p.m.
