Eric Hink of the Niagara baseball team was named Student-Athlete of the Week after an impressive performance in the Purple Eagles’ three-game series against Richmond this past weekend.
In Niagara’s game one win, Hink went 3-for-6 at the plate with a home run and a double, recording one RBI and three runs scored. Game two saw Hink held to a 1-for-4 plate performance, but the Harleysville, Pa. native bounced back on Sunday, going 3-for-4 with another run and a stolen base.
For the weekend, the senior had a .500 batting average (7-14) and a .786 slugging percentage.
Hink and the Purple Eagles are back in action this weekend when they travel to Lewisburg, Pa. to battle the Bucknell Bison. The series begins with a double header starting at noon on Saturday, Mar. 3.
