Previous Student-Athlete of the Week Winners

NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Senior Kari Honomichl of the Niagara women’s volleyball team has been named Student-Athlete of the Week.

Honomichl totaled 44 kills and 44 digs in three contests, including three straight matches with a double-double.

Last Wednesday against Syracuse, the Petersburg, Mich. native led the match with 18 kills and added 19 digs and followed up that effort with 11 kills and 11 digs against Manhattan.  In the sweep over Saint Peters the following day, Honomichl earned a match-high 15 kills, while contributing 14 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. 

Honomichl currently ranks third in the MAAC with 3.88 kills per set. 

The Purple Eagles return to the court on Saturday, Oct. 6 when they play at crosstown rival Canisius at 2 p.m.
