NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore
David Raymond picked up two wins in singles to qualify for the United States Tennis Association (USTA)/Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Championships main draw.
Raymond improved to 7-2 on the season with two dominating wins on Thursday. He blanked Quinnipiac’s Garret Lane, 6-0, 6-0, and avenged last season’s loss to Bryant’s Dana Panzialle with a straight set win, 6-4, 6-2.
Raymond joins teammate
Michael Elortegui in the main draw.
Junior Olivier Dufour-Coursol fell to Marist’s Dalen Klassen, 6-3, 6-1, in the other singles qualifying match for Niagara.
The doubles team of
Brandon Gallegos and Elortegui will begin play tomorrow.
