Past Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week Award Winners

Val McQuade of the Niagara women's basketball team earned Niagara Student-Athlete of the Week honors after a strong showing against Iona and Saint Peter's this past weekend.
McQuade totaled 21 points and nine rebounds in the victory over the Saint Peter's Peahens on Monday and against Iona. Against the Gaels, the Pittsburgh native scored nine points and nabbed seven boards. In the 61-52 win over the Peahens, McQuade scored a career-high 12 points while adding two rebounds and two steals to her effort.
McQuade is presently fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 5.4 points per game, tops amongst all freshmen on the team. The six-foot tall forward is second on the team with 61 rebounds.
Niagara continue Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play on the road when the Purple Eagles face the Siena Saints on Friday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m. and the Marist Red Foxes on Sunday, Jan. 16 at 2 p.m.
