This years Niagara University Cheerleading program consists of 24 female students working to make the team skilled and competitive. The team participates in men's and women's home basketball games, the MAAC tournament, collegiate competitions, and other school events as well as outside promotional exhibitions, children's clinics and camps, and fundraisers.
The NU cheerleaders practice at Niagara University as well as Gleason's Gymnastics http://gleasonsgymnastics.com in North Tonawanda.
Requirements:
- Attend team workouts 3 times a week
- Attend three practices a week, which last approximately 3 hours each
- Participate in games, competitions, fundraisers, and exhibitions
- Minimum of a standing back hand spring
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 grade-point- average

2010
COA Niagara Falls Championship – 1st place COA Ultimate National Championship – 1st place COA stunt group competition – 1st place
2009
Fredonia Cheerleading Competition – 1st place and grand champion for college division COA Niagara Falls Championship – 1st place COA Ultimate National Championship – 2nd place
Head Coach Erin Bailey
Erin Bailey has over 23 years of cheerleading experience, cheering in both high school and college, and coaching. This is her fourth year at Niagara University after working with the Lockport High School Lions from 1999 to 2007 as the head cheerleading coach. As the coach at Lockport she was responsible for running tryouts, choreographing routines for football and basketball games and competitions, as well as working with the cheerleaders on school spirit and community service projects.
Her previous cheerleading squads have received national recognition by placing 1st in several NCA US Championships, Cheerleaders of American competitions, and numerous competitions in Western New York. In addition, her teams were picked to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and performed for a pre-game show for the Cleveland Cavaliers game.
Coach Bailey is certified by AACCA, is a NCA certified coach, and has her certification for judging.
