Women's Tennis Ousted By No. 1 Seed In Semis

FLUSHING, N.Y. - Fifth-seeded Niagara was eliminated in the 2010 MAAC Women's Tennis Tournament Semifinals by top-seeded Fairfield, 4-0, on Saturday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Niagara (7-18) ends the season against Fairfield (17-5) for the second-straight year; the top-seeded Purple Eagles lost in the 2009 MAAC Championship Final to the No. 2 seed Stags.
The Purple Eagles dropped the doubles point after the No. 1 (Hilary Hansen and Alyssa Lucas) and the No. 3 team (Emma Cunnington and Julia Gray) both lost 8-2. The number two doubles was not finished with Raquel Solis and Brittany Walters trailing 4-3.
In singles action, three matches went unfinished as the Purple Eagles fell quickly. Solis, Cunnington and Walters combined to win six games in the three matches that were completed.
