Women's Tennis Drops Match At Loyola, 7-0

BALTIMORE - The Niagara women's tennis team dropped a road contest to conference foe Loyola on Saturday afternoon by the score of 7-0.

The doubles tandem of Raquel Solis and Brittany Walters picked up a victory in their doubles match over Joy Johnson and Andie Keyser-Baker by the score of 8-6, but Niagara was unable to pick up the doubles point.

In singles action, Solis put in a good effort but was outlasted by Loyola's Kerri Swan by the score of 5-7, 6-1, 6-2. In the top singles pairing Hilary Hansen put up a good fight but was downed by the top member of Loyola's squad by the score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

In the top doubles matchup Hansen and Alyssa Lucas were downed by the score of 8-2 as Loyola was able to grab the doubles point from the Purple Eagles.                            

The women will return to the court on Sunday, March 21 as they will travel to St. Francis, Pa.

Hilary Hansen (NU) lost to Rachel Janasek (LOY) 6-2, 4-6, 6-1
Raquel Solis (NU) lost to Kerri Swan (LOY) 5-7, 6-1, 6-2
Alyssa Lucas (NU) lost to Joy Johnson (LOY) 6-1, 7-5
Emma Cunnington (NU) lost to Andie Keyser-Baker (LOY) 6-3, 6-0
Brittany Walters (NU) lost to Judy Lite (LOY) 6-1, 6-1
Julia Gray (NU) lost to Scarlett Hoy (LOY) 6-0, 6-1
