WEST HAVEN, Conn.- The Niagara women's tennis team played well, but were unable to pick up a victory and advance at the ITA Regionals on the campus of Yale University on Saturday night. Sophomore Hilary Hansen (Charolettetown, P.E.I.) put in a strong effort in both doubles and singles, but could not pick up a victory for the Purple Eagles.
In doubles action, the sophomore tandem of Hansen and Alyssa Lucas (Clarkston, Mich.) were defeated by Dana Postupack and Paulina Rys of MAAC rival Fairfield, 8-4. Later in the day, Hansen was defeated in singles action, 6-1 6-1, by Adi Petrova from the University of Buffalo.
The women's tennis team will resume play Feb. 6 at home against the Cleveland State Vikings
