NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – Five members of the Niagara University women’s tennis team were honored Wednesday on Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams.
Junior Shella Dargout (Rochester, N.Y.) earned first team All-MAAC honors at No. 5 singles and teamed with sophomore Vanja Lakic (Waterloo, Ont.) for second team All-MAAC honors at No. 2 doubles.
Seniors Julianne Prokopich (Loretto, Ont.) and Jacquelyn Cary (Selkirk, N.Y.) earned first team All-MAAC honors at No. 3 doubles. Both were also second All-MAAC picks at No. 3 and No. 6 singles, respectively.
Rookie Molly Mathews (Pittsburgh, Pa.) garnered second team All-MAAC honors at No. 4 singles.
The Purple Eagles finished their 2006-07 season 13-11 overall, 6-1 in league play and second at the MAAC Tournament.
