NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Niagara University women’s soccer team and head coach Peter Veltri have announced the signings of Kaelyn Greenland and Aisha Eversley to join the Purple Eagles for the 2004 season.
Greenland, a central defender from Aurora, Ontario, comes to Niagra from Aurora High School. Playing club soccer for Pickering, she was coached by Richard Alexander.
"Kaelyn provides us with an offensive-minded defender," Veltri said. "She possesses very good skill and will be able to initiate our attack. She is very comfortable with the ball at her feet and will fit well with our system of play."
Eversley, a forward from Mississauga, Ontario, played with the the Mississauga Dixie Fury and Streetsville Secondary High School. Winner of the Ontario Outdoor League Scoring Title in the 2002-03 season, Eversley helped the Dixie Fury to the U18 Ontario Cup Championship this past year, in addition to a third place finish at the Canadian National Club Championships in Winninpeg, Manitoba.
"Aisha is a very gifted striker. She has great skill, speed and a great understanding of the game," Veltri said. "She will be counted on to score goals, something that she has been extremely successful at doing."
Greenland and Eversley join Brittany Bisnott, who signed with Niagara in March, in the 2004 recruiting class for the women’s soccer program.
