NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. – Niagara University lacrosse coach Mike Mansour announced Monday that former Purple Eagle Rebecca Birx will join the coaching staff.
"The coaches and team are very pleased to have Becca Birx return to Niagara University as an assistant coach," Mansour said. "Becca was a strong leader as a team member and I am sure she will bring that with her as she begins coaching at the Division I level."
Birx, a defender, started every game her final two seasons and caused 10 turnovers as a senior, the most of any Purple Eagle. Last season, she was fourth on the squad in ground balls, including a season-high four in Niagara’s win over St. Francis (Pa.).
A three-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic selection, Birx graduated in May with a degree in business management.
