Josh Sciba

Bio:

Josh Sciba starts his second season as an assistant coach with the Niagara women's hockey team. Sciba works with the forwards, special teams, and all facets of recruiting, video analysis, academics, strength and conditioning, community service and SAAC. He joined the Niagara women’s hockey family in 2008 after completing four seasons of playing Men’s Division I Hockey at the University of Notre Dame.

 

An active student-athlete, Sciba spent the 2004-07 summers working with the Notre Dame Summer Hockey Camps, where he developed strong leadership skills as a camp instructor. He recently played minor professional hockey for the Las Vegas Wranglers, Bakersfield Condors and the Dayton Bombers of the East Coast Hockey League.

 

Before enrolling at Notre Dame, Sciba spent two seasons in the United States National Team Developmental Program and was the assistant captain of the Under-17 team in 2001-02 and Under-18 team in 2002-03.

 

A four-year forward for the Fighting Irish hockey team, Sciba was honored with the Notre Dame’s Monogram Award Winner four consecutive seasons and was named the Notre Dame Offensive Player of the Year for the 2005-06 season. 

 

Sciba graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2007 with a degree in sociology and computer applications.
