NIAGARA UNIV., N.Y. - The Niagara men's and women's soccer programs were recently honored with a National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2008-09 season, one of just 98 schools that had both teams honored.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Niagara women's soccer team was 30 minutes away from claiming its second-ever MAAC Championship, but allowed three goals in a five-minute span to suffer a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat against the top-seeded Loyola Greyhounds in the MAAC Tournament Final on Monday afternoon from the Walt Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. - Senior Chiara Greco (Hamilton, Ont.) netted her second goal of the MAAC Tournament in the ninth minute of overtime, capping a furious comeback that helped No. 6 Niagara (10-9-1) to a 2-1 decision over No. 7 Marist (8-10-2) in the MAAC semifinals on Sunday afternoon at the Walt Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - The Niagara women's soccer team led all conference schools with 14 student-athletes named to the MAAC All-Academic Team, as announced by the conference office during the 2009 MAAC Championships in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Saturday. Three players also earned All-MAAC honors during the off day of the Championships.
