Outlook: Newfane graduate Jason Fischer will likely crack the top five in his first season as a Purple Eagle.

High School: A two-time all-league and all-section honoree at Newfane, Fischer finished 14th at the Footlocker Northeast Regional junior race and 24th at the NYSPHSAA Class B State meet in 2005. On the track, Fischer finished third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2006 Division II State Championship. Fischer did not run his senior year instead opting to play for the Panthers soccer team, which won the 2006 Section VI championship.

Personal: The son of Richard and Denise Fischer, Jason was born May 22, 1989, in Kenmore, N.Y. He has two younger brothers, Mathew and Jeremy. Fischer is a biology major.
