Outlook: A hard worker and consistent competitor, John Sarratori should again be among Niagara’s top five finishers.

Sophomore (2006): Sarratori ran a personal-best time of 28:12.3 over the 8K course at the MAAC Championships (Oct. 27). He finished in the top 50 in the first three meets of the season, highlighted by a 41st-place effort at the Buffalo Open (Sept. 23).

Freshman (2005): Sarratori competed in all seven meets his first season, posting a season-best time of 28:14.4 at the MAAC Championships (Oct. 28) en route to a 45th-place finish. At the NCAA Northeast Regional (Nov. 12), he was the third Purple Eagle to cross the line, finishing the 10K course in a personal-best 35:25.3.

High School: Sarratori placed fourth in the sectional and fifth at the conference meet as a senior at Newfane. He was a member of the all-star team at the 2004 Checkers AC Invitational and helped guide the Panthers to an undefeated 12-0 record in his final year and a 30-6 mark during the three seasons he lettered. He was named the MVP and MIP as a member of the track team.

Personal: The son of John and Kim Sarratori, John was born Jan. 26, 1987, in North Tonawanda, N.Y. He has a younger sister, Eilene. Sarratori is majoring in business.
