NIAGARA UN., N.Y. - The men's soccer team, under the guidance of head coach Dermot McGrane, picked up another postseason award from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). The Purple Eagles were named to the NCSAA Team Academic Award list with a 3.06 team GPA during the 2005-06 academic year.
The Purple Eagles (7-7-4, 5-1-3 MAAC) earned a berth into the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships for the second time during the 2006 season, helping McGrane earn MAAC Coach of the Year honors for the second-straight season. Niagara also had four student-athletes named to All-MAAC teams and eight members on the MAAC All-Academic Squad.
The Purple Eagles were the only MAAC men's team to receive the honor.
