All Five Golfers Lower Scores As Team Improves Position

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Niagara men's golf team improved its final positioning at the 31st annual Navy Invitational on Sunday. All five golfers lowered their scores from the previous day's round.

Niagara's overall team total of 326 was 13 strokes better than round one, and NU finished in 20th place at the event.

Senior Jason Polka finished tied for 47th place after a second-round 77. He tallied a 157 (80-77). Sophomore Trevor Kenney shot a final round 79 to finish in 77th place, 163 (84-79).

Junior Kelly Robinson shot a 170 (87-83), while senior Joe Tonnos recorded a 175 (88-87). Sophomore Jeremy Christie was one stroke behind with a 176 (89-87).

The Purple Eagles take the course for their final tune-up before the MAAC Championships at the University of Rhode Island Northeast Invitational on Saturday April 24.
