Men's Golf 15th After Day One Of Spring

BETHANY BEACH, Del. - The Niagara men's golf team opened the spring portion of their schedule with two rounds on day one of the George Washington Invitational on Friday.

The Purple Eagles are in 15th place out of 16 teams with a two-round, four-man score of 653 (336-317). Niagara is 10 strokes away from 14th place and 41 strokes ahead of 16th place.

Senior Jason Polka led the team with a two-round score of 158. She carded an 80 in the first round and a 6-over par 78 in round two.

Sophomore Trevor Kenney and junior Jeremy Christie both matched Polka's round-two 78. Kenney sits second among the Purple Eagles with a 161 (83-78), while Christie is fourth with a 169 (91-78).

Junior Kelly Robinson is third on the team with a 165 (82-83) and senior Joe Tonnos recorded a a 179 (91-88).

Niagara will finish the final round of the Invitational on Saturday.
