Men’s Basketball Puts Four on All-MAAC Teams

EDISON, N.J. – The Niagara University men’s basketball team had four players named to All-MAAC Teams Monday, announced by the league office on a conference call.

Junior Charron Fisher (Pennsauken, N.J.) was named to the first team, senior Clif Brown (Ferndale, Mich.) to the second team, senior Lorenzo Miles (Washington, D.C.) to the third team and rookie Tyrone Lewis (Levittown, Pa.) to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.

Fisher, a preseason First Team All-MAAC pick, is now one of five players eligible for the Rock MAAC Player of the Year Award announced Thursday in Bridgeport, Conn.

The 6-foot-3 swingman ranks first in the MAAC in league-only games in scoring (22.6), fourth in rebounds (8.5) and third in three-point shooting (44.6). The two-time MAAC Player of the Week posted double digits in 21 games and had three double-doubles during the regular season. He also had 14 20-plus point games and two 30-plus point outings.

Brown, who was a third-team All-MAAC pick last season, is second on the team in scoring (16.0) and leads the squad in rebounding (9.4). He ranks 10th in scoring, second in rebounds, 11th in free-throw percentage (.778), and third in offensive rebounds (3.3.1). Brown led Niagara in scoring 11 times and in rebounds 17 times. He registered six 20-plus point games of the season.

Miles, a preseason Second Team All-MAAC pick, makes his first postseason team in four years. He is third on the squad in scoring (12.4) and steals (1.2) and second in assists (3.5) and three-pointers (52). The 5-11 guard ranks 14th in points, eighth in assists, 10th in three-point percentage (34.2) and three-pointers (1.7), and 11th in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.51) in MAAC overall games.

Lewis, who is now eligible for MAAC Freshman of the Year Award, is fourth on the team in scoring (11.3) and second in steals (35). The 6-0 guard also averages 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Lewis has two 20-plus point games, scored in double figures in 15 of 22 games, grabbed five-or-more rebounds six times, and has dished out three assists in nine games.
