EDISON, N.J. - Freshman men's tennis player Jeremy Quiroz was named MAAC Co-Rookie of the Year and earned All-MAAC Second Team honors announced on Wednesday from the league's office. Quiroz and fellow classmate Matthew Kane were named to the All-MAAC Second Team in the No. 1 doubles slot.

FLUSHING, N.Y. - The No. 5 seed Niagara Purple Eagles were edged by the fourth-seeded Loyola Greyhounds, 4-3, in the 2010 MAAC Tournament First Round on Friday morning at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The defeat ends Niagara's season and is the first time Niagara hasn't advanced past the first round since 2005.

EDISON, N.J. - Three Purple Eagles were named to the 2010 MAAC Men's and Women's Tennis All-Academic Teams. Sophomore David Lemieux-Sarrasin was the only men's player representing Niagara, while senior Emma Cunnington and sophomore Hilary Hansen represent the women's teams.

The Niagara men’s and women’s tennis teams start their title run for the 2010 MAAC Championship on Friday, April 23 from the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. The men’s team is the fifth-seed and will play against the No. 4 seed Loyola Greyhounds at 9 a.m. The fifth-seeded women’s team will face fourth-seeded Siena at 1:30 p.m.

NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. - The Niagara men's tennis dropped its regular season finale against the Fairfield Stags, 5-2, on Saturday night from the SportsPlex. The Purple Eagles will be the fourth seed in next week's MAAC Championship.
