The Purple & White Club was established in 1999 to support the growth of the Niagara Athletics program, by providing comprehensive fundraising for the Athletics Department and its 17 NCAA Division I teams. Its core philosophy is that athletics is a critical component of the overall educational, University and Vincentian experience of our student-athletes as well as the student-body, alumni and community. The Purple & White Club's objective is to provide our student-athletes with the additional resources necessary to strive for league championships, achieve academic success, and serve as outstanding representatives of our world-class university.
Athletics Club - Purple & White Club's Top Priority
The athletics program is certainly a point of pride for Niagara University. Over the past seven years the University has demonstrated pride in the Purple Eagle athletics program through steady increases in athletic scholarships and operations budget. The athletics program budget has increased from $3,850,000 in fiscal year 1998-99 to over $6,000,000in fiscal year 2006-07. Athletic scholarship equivalencies have increased from 75.1 in fiscal year 1998-99 to 100 in fiscal year 2006-07 with the cost of a full Grant In Aid increasing from $20,034 to $30,615 during the same time period.
At this point, Niagara University is asking you to demonstrate that Niagara Athletics is a priority to you by making the Athletics Club a part of your annual giving plan!
The Purple & White Club's greatest need is to increase alumni and fan donations to the Athletics Fund. The Athletics Fund is the general fund that supports the entire athletics programs expenses such as coaches' salaries, travel, recruiting, and operations.
Specific Teams
In addition to the Athletics Fund, Purple & White Club donations may be designated to specific teams.
Men's: Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Golf, Hockey, Soccer, Swimming/Diving, Tennis. Women's: Basketball, Cross Country, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Softball, Swimming/Diving, Tennis, Volleyball. Coed: Cheer Squad
Gifts to a specific team are used at the request of the coach, with approval by the Athletic Director, to meet the special team needs.
Why give?
Your contribution to the Purple & White Club will demonstrate to Niagara University that a strong athletic program is important to you and will only help to strengthen the entire university. Your ongoing support will show through in the continuing efforts of Niagara University's student-athletes, coaches and staff to achieve the academic and athletic excellence within their reach.

Matching Gift
Companies will often match the charitable contributions of its employees. Check with your Human Resource Office to see if your gift can be matched with company funds.
Appreciated Stocks and Securities
