10th Annual Niagara Athletic Department Kist Classic
Spring is right around the corner so pull out your golf clubs and get ready for the 10th annual Niagara Athletic Department Kist Golf Classic on June 11.
The 18-hole event at the Niagara Falls Country Club, home of the Niagara University men’s golf team and the Porter Cup, is held every year to benefit the Purple Eagle athletic teams and to honor of Ray Kist (1948-95), the head trainer at Niagara University for 16 years. The country club is the second-ranked amateur tournament in the United States, and boasts a par-70, 6,621-yard course featuring 90 treacherous sand traps.
Individual golfers and foursomes are welcome to the outing. The 18 holes will be played in scramble format and the driving range and putting green will be available. The Niagara University athletic department has contests and prizes for the participants.
Registration and lunch are at 11 a.m., and the shotgun-start will be at 12:30 p.m. Cocktails and light appetizers will be served following the 18-hole event.
Cost for the outing is $225 per person and includes golf, lunch and a cocktail reception. Hole sponsorships are also available for $200.
